So it turns out I go few and far between writing here on the blog (oopsie!). But I will strive to do more so in the coming months. However time flies when you're having fun! And since I last wrote (in March) and announced my residency at All for one One for all Farm, I have been regularly spending my time there busily creating what inspires me about its beautiful regenerative landscape. To know ones surprise I'm sure, I have focused primarily on Botanicals but other things as well. AOOA has an amazing cut flower garden and rows and rows of stunning annuals. Nasturtiums line their painted black fence, Maximilian sunflowers and Hyssop grow in abundance behind the barn, and several designated areas are in full loom with Strawflower, Gomphrena, Marigolds, Sunflowers, and Zinnias just to name a few. All of this ignites my creative fire, and I truly can't get enough time with Bilou the goose, my art supplies, and the beauty that is AOOA.
AOOA farm is so magical! And because it is a regenerative farm, meaning every single thing works together in harmony... it's teaming with life. Constant inspiration abounds! I feel so blessed to be welcomed into the arms of this special place, by its owners, staff, and their animals. At AOOA I have definitely felt like one of the gang, and for that I am incredibly grateful.
During my time on the farm (which isn't over yet btw!) I have painted some beautiful watercolor bouquets, landscapes, and animal pieces. I've also expanded artistically by working with the actual plants and flowers of AOOA, by pressing and drying them and then utilizing the preserved pieces as a way of turning real botanicals into functional art. In addition to paintings and botanical work, I also dabbled in the process of creating cyanotypes, a chemical process that utilizes the sun to create art.
And so without further ado, I am excited to announce that on October 14th from 2-5pm I will be sharing my abundant body of work at my Artist-in-Residence Art Show! All are invited, and I would love to see you there! This event is free, all works are available for purchase, and a portion of the proceeds will go right back to the farm to contribute to its continuing growth.
